Zvishavane Police Seek Information on Murder of 31-Year-Old Man

Police in Zvishavane, Midlands Province, have launched a manhunt for two suspects in connection with a murder case. Tinashe Chinhongo, 31, died on June 7, 2024, after being attacked on June 4, 2024, at Maglas Township, Zvishavane.
In a press statement Provincial Community Relations Liaison Officer, said Chinhongo was struck on the head with a stone, robbed, and left in a mountainous area.
“He was initially treated and discharged but later succumbed to his injuries at Mpilo General Hospital in Bulawayo. Police are seeking in Police are appealing for information which might lead to the arrest of the suspects to visit their nearest police station, “said Insp.Mahoko.
Subsequently, a Toyota Fun cargo motor vehicle carrying an unknown number of men arrived at the scene and manhandled Chinhongo into the vehicle. They sped off to the outskirts of Zvishavane towards a Higher Learning Institution in mountainous area where he was robbed off his cell phone and the clothes he was putting on. The men then left him at the scene and went away.
The matter was reported to the police and the complainant was referred to hospital where he was treated and discharged. On 6 June 2024 Chinhongo went back to hospital when his condition was not improving. He was transferred to Mpilo General Hospital in Bulawayo where he died on 7 June 2024.
“Police are appealing for information which might lead to the arrest of the suspects to visit their nearest police station,” said Public Relations and Liaison Officer, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko.
