Zimbabwe Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry has made History by being elected as the First African and Female President of the International Olympic Committee
41 Year old Coventry was elected on Thursday during elections held in Greece and also becomes the youngest ever and 10 th IOC President.
She will serve an 8 year term. Coventry rose to prominence when she won multiple Olympic gold medals in swimming a few years ago and has been serving as Zimbabwe Sports Minister since 2023.
