In a stunning turn of events, 68-year-old Stella Mabandla, a resident of Lot 1 of Gweru Smallholding 22, took to the Gweru Magistrate Court to reveal her husband’s secret gay affairs and alleged attempts on her life.
Mabandla who had dragged her three family farmworkers, Ozias Sithole, Joseph Tinarwo , Kudakwashe Hundireva and Ruth Masasa before Gweru Civil Court Magistrate, Vimbai Chirayi for disturbing peace at their matrimonial farming residential area was tempted to spill the beans.
Represented by Advocate Ignatius Mupfiga, Mabandla initially brought three of her husband’s male workers to court, accusing them of disturbing the peace and “snatching” her husband. However, in a dramatic twist, she revealed that her husband, Morton Mabandla, was leading a double life, engaging in a gay relationship with the three men.
“The situation isn’t good for me, I am being victimized left, right, and center,” Mabandla said. I am frail, and Morton takes advantage of that, he wants me dead. I am frail, and he takes advantage of that. He uses these three men, who are supposed to be our farm workers but are now his same-sex partners, to insult me. They harass me and manhandle me. I am being harassed verbally, physically, and psychologically. I therefore appeal to this honorable court to help me with a peace order against these three boyfriends of my husband,” said the seemingly troubled Stella Mabandla.
Mabandla alleged that her husband’s same-sex partners had been deliberately trying to intimidate and harm her, leaving her fearing for her life. She appealed to the court for a peace order against the three men, citing the need for protection from their harassment.
The case has shed light on the complexities of their troubled marriage and the danger Mabandla faced. As the case unfolds, it raises questions about the safety and well-being of those affected by infidelity and domestic violence. The court’s decision will be crucial in determining the fate of the three men and the future of the Mabandlas’ marriage.
Mabandla had initially declined to speak to journalists but later opened up about her husband’s confession of being gay and his choice to pursue a same-sex lifestyle. She alleged that his infidelity has led to intermittent fights and squabbles, resulting in the sale of their private school, Lingfield High School.
“This man is deadly. I have survived several attempted killings. You were in court and you saw it for yourself that Mabandla had the guts to hired three advanced lawyers to protect these workers cum gay lovers, ’she said.
The couple’s nasty fight over control of properties and proceeds from the sold school has spilled into the courts. Mabandla is seeking to recover some of the proceeds, which her husband is reportedly trying to elbow her out of.
Morton Mabandla rubbished the allegations, saying they were “nonsense” meant to tarnish his image. He went on to threaten the journalist saying if he dare write any story about the issue he will deal with him severely. However, Mabandla stands firm in her claims, saying her husband’s actions speak volumes about his intentions.
