Three women were robbed of cash, cell phones and a satchel bag containing clothing items, the incident happened on 2 February 2024 at around 0100 hours at Amatava Turn-off along Harare-Bulawayo road.
It is the state’s case that the three women boarded a white Fun Cargo at Telecel in Kwekwe CDB, intending to go to Redcliff and there were three male occupants in the vehicle including the driver.
It is alleged that upon reaching Redcliff turn-off the driver did not turn into Redcliff road but he proceeded towards Gweru , slowed the vehicle and produced a Columbia knife and the other two male occupants demanded cash and cell phones from the three ladies.
It is said that Fearing for their lives, the victims surrendered cash, cell phones and a satchel bag with clothing items all valued at US$441-00 and jumped out of the moving vehicle and they sustained moderate injuries.
ZRP Kwekwe Rural attended the scene and referred the victims to Kwekwe General Hospital where they were treated and discharged in stable conditions.
