B y Kwedu News

Masvingo, Zimbabwe -A devastating forensic audit has exposed a web of corruption and theft within the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe (RCZ), resulting in the suspension of top church officials and the loss of over US$102,000 in church funds.

The audit revealed a shocking pattern of abuse of power and misappropriation of funds by high-ranking officials, including Reverend Tafadzwa Masimba, General Secretary; Pikisai Mhizha, Treasurer; Frank Shuro, Human Resources Manager; and Reverend Isaac Pandasvika, Moderator.

According to the Synodical Committee report produced, the Vice Secretary General, Reverend Madanire, and Reverend Ezekiel Baloyi have also been suspended pending further investigation.

The audit uncovered a trail of fraudulent activities, including the payment of travel and subsistence allowances for fully-sponsored international trips, unauthorized borrowing, and the irregular clearance of a car purchased from South Africa.

Furthermore, the audit raised concerns about the handling of school levies at Eaglesvale school and the loss of US$5,000 by the General Secretary and treasurer at the Beitbridge border.

The report also highlighted instances of fraud and abuse of office, including the purchase of unused computer software and the existence of unregistered church houses.

The synodical committee has taken swift action, removing the entire executive from office with immediate effect, pending further investigations.
