In a stunning abuse of power and trust, Peter Pasi, a fake prophet from Chitungwiza, has been slammed with a 20-year prison sentence for the savage rape of a vulnerable 15-year-old girl during a sham prayer session.
The chilling details of the crime, revealed during a full trial, expose the dark underbelly of spiritual manipulation and exploitation.
Pasi’s victim, a trusting congregant, was lured into a series of fake prayer sessions, culminating in a horrific sexual assault in a secluded bush area. The self-styled prophet’s twisted ritual, complete with a red cloth and a Muhacha tree, was merely a ruse for his depraved desires.
The court heard how Pasi callously exploited the girl’s trust, covering her face and forcing her to lie down before committing the heinous act. The victim’s desperate screams were drowned out by the isolation of the area, leaving her feeling helpless and alone.
In a scathing indictment, public prosecutor Ms. Pamela Dzinduwa asserted that Pasi’s actions were a “gross abuse of trust and authority,” and that his exploitation of the victim’s vulnerability was “particularly aggravating.”
The bravery of the victim and her family, who reported the crime to the police, has brought this sexual predator to justice. The sentence, handed down by Chitungwiza regional magistrate Mrs. Gloria Takundwa, serves as a stern warning to those who would abuse their power and trust in such a heinous manner.
