Popular musician urges parents to give children with disabilities an equal chance in society

A popular Zimbabwean musician well known as Chipochashe Muchegwa encourages parents of children with disabilities not to deny their children an opportunity to associate with others so that they will build a better future for themselves by showcasing their talents.


“I encourage parent of children with disabilities not to deny their children opportunities to associate with others by letting them go to school,also by giving them an opportunity to understand the outside environment away from home and this will help them discover their talents and to grow ,”said Muchegwa
She also advise the society to hold each other’s hands by cheering one another to fight for their dreams regardless of their physical appearance.


Chipochashe Muchegwa, real name Talent Muchegwa is a popular musician with disabilities born the 9th April 1992 .She stays in Norton and is a proud mother of one. She attended her primary school at Jairos Jiri and her secondary school at Danhiko in Masasa .
She said she had passion to be a Musician from an early age, she joined the school choir at primary level and this helped her to build her confidence as she was given an opportunity to get exposure and was able to discover herself.
Muchegwa said people who are disabled are not given equal opportunities like their fellow able boded colleagues in the music industry but she keeps going regardless of challenges she face in the industry, so she encorges everyone who is disabled to be persistent when persuing their dreams


“We are being looked down upon and we are not being recognized like other artists ,but l keep on fighting for my dream ,”she said
