A Mshika-shika motor vehicle operator raped his passenger during a break down and disappeared.
It is the state’s case that on 26 March 2023 at around 2100hours at the 130km peg along Kwekwe-Gokwe road a female aged 22 boarded a Honda Fit at Bomba Business Centre intending to go to Gokwe Centre where she was raped by the driver along the way.
The alleged suspect is Simbarashe Bhobho aged 32 of Chigoyo village under Chief
Magonde in Makonde.
It is reported that along the way, the motor vehicle ran out of fuel and after refueling, the battery had gone flat and the motor vehicle could not be started, the driver who is the suspect suggested that they wait to request for assistance from other passing motorists.
It is alleged that as they were waiting, Bhobho who is the suspect raped his passenger and ran away leaving the motor vehicle and his identification particulars.
The matter was reported to the police and the motor vehicle was towed to Gokwe Police Station.
Zimbabwe republic police Midlands province is appealing to members of the public for assistance in the investigation by supplying any information they have concerning the incident.
