..Takes first place at Chibuku Neshamwari Midlands Finals

Mkango Gure Malawi are floating on cloud nine after clinching the top position at the 2024 Chibuku Neshamwari Midlands Provincial finals.
The win guaranteed them a qualifying spot at the highly anticipated national finals on soon in Masvingo.
The stage was set ablaze with fierce competition as ten groups from Gweru, Kwekwe, Shurugwi, Zvishavane and Mberengwa battled it out for the top spot. The anticipation was high, the energy was electric and the performances were nothing short of breathtaking.
But in the end, it was Mkango Gure Malawi who emerged victorious with their mesmerizing nyau dance, which left the audience with their mouth agape and asking for some more and adjudicators awestruck
The performance earned them a coveted first-place position, which gives them the right to represent the province at the national finals along with a whopping US$2 500 cash prize.
Zvishavane based Undi Gure went home US$1 500 richer after their electrifying traditional dance performance earned them second position.
Not to be outdone, Pasichigare also from the former asbestos mining town of Zvishavane wowed the judges and audiences alike with their Mhande dance, earning them third place and a prize of US$1 000.
Questions sent to newly appointed National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, Communications and Marketing Manager, Aggabu Nyabinde were not yet responded at by the time of posting.
