GWERU – In a remarkable display of kindness, the Midlands Show Society and former aspiring politician Florance Mbizo, also known as Mrs. Mudzengi, have been lauded by the Murombo Munhu Association for their generosity towards vulnerable children.

The association, which cares for orphans and marginalized children, expressed its deepest gratitude for the free entry tickets provided to 50 children from the suburbs of Mtapa, Mambo, and Ascot to attend the 2024 Midlands Agricultural Show. Mbizo’s donation of money for food for all 50 children at the show further exemplified the spirit of inclusivity and leaving no one behind.

“This is an incredible gesture that means a lot to our children. We are thrilled to see them enjoying the show, and we are grateful for the meal provided by Mrs. Mudzengi. It’s a truly amazing display of compassion,” said Alois Mudamburi, Treasurer of Murombo Munhu Association.

Tendai Katsaka, daughter of the late founder Alice Katsaka, was visibly moved by the gesture. “I am speechless. The support from Midlands Show and Mrs. Mudzengi is a testament to my mother’s legacy. We will continue to pursue her mission of helping the underprivileged. Thank you to Midlands Show and Mrs. Mudzengi for helping us make a difference.”

The children who benefited from the free entry tickets were equally grateful. Primrose Ndanya said, “The gesture gives us hope and makes us feel seen. We are grateful for the kindness shown to us. Inclusion matters. I had no hope that one day I will attend Midlands Show, see celebrated musicians, helicopters, dogs, and mock war displays by soldiers.”

Pamela Katsaka, who was adopted by the late Alice Katsaka, added, “We have been given respect and dignity. Thank you to Murombo Munhu Association, Midlands Show, and Mrs. Mudzengi for walking the talk of inclusivity.”

The Midlands Show Society and Mrs. Mudzengi’s kindness has not only brought joy to the children but has also rehumanized and energized them. Their selfless act serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion and empathy towards vulnerable members of society.
