A chilling wave of violence has swept through Midlands Province, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake. The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed three horrific murders in the space of just nine days, sparking widespread concern and outrage.
Provincial Community Relations Liaison Officer,Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said “In the first incident, a young man’s life was brutally cut short in a mine shaft in Shurugwi. Takesure Sande’s decomposing body was found on July 26, eight days after he went missing”.
Just hours later, a deadly dispute over a girlfriend claimed the life of Collious Ncube in Silobela. The 31-year-old was stabbed multiple times in a frenzied attack that has left the community reeling.
And in a shocking third incident, a senseless argument over a mere US$5 led to the savage murder of Cliff Maunganidze in Zhombe. The 36-year-old was bludgeoned to death with a drill bit, axe handle, and hoe in a brutal assault that has left police and residents stunned.
The police are urging the public to exercise extreme caution and to seek help to resolve disputes peacefully. “We cannot stress enough how dangerous and destructive violence is,” said Inspector Mahoko. “We urge everyone to work together to bring an end to this senseless bloodshed.”
