Midlands police investigating robbery that ended in murder

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in the Midlands Province are searching for possible suspects in a robbery case that left a man dead on Friday night.
The Provincial Community Relations Liaison Officer, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko says ZRP has intensified investigations on this matter of a 38-year-old Gokwe man who died after being stabbed several times all over the body by an unknown assailant.
The incident occurred on 28 April 2023 at about 2200 hours at Sunset business centre, Gokwe.
According to Insp. Mahoko the deceased Jemias Mapolisa aged 38 of Masvina village, Chief Nemangwe, Gokwe was on his way home from work in the company of his girlfriend when they met the suspect whose face was covered with a wool hat.
“It is alleged that the suspect snatched a vivo cellphone from Jemias Mapolisa’s girlfriend. Sensing danger the girlfriend ran away towards the business Centre for safety leaving Jemias Mapolisa behind,” he said.
Insp. Mahoko added that on 29 April 23 and at around 0100 hours, Jemias Mapolisa’s body was discovered lying lifeless on the ground in a pool of blood by a passer-by.
“A report was made at ZRP Gokwe and investigations are in progress. We are appealing to members of the public with information which may leads to the arrest of the suspect to approach any nearest police station,” Inspector Mahoko said
