Midlands agriculture show postponed

The Midlands Show Society has announced the postponement of the Midlands Agriculture Show, which was initially scheduled to run from August 15 to 18, 2024. The show will now take place from August 22 to 25, 2024.
Although the show’s manager, Victoria Chikukwa, did not disclose the reason for the postponement in a press statement, an impeccable source revealed that the initial dates clashed with the SADC Summit, scheduled for August 16-17, 2024, in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwean government has reportedly banned all gatherings ahead of the SADC Summit, resulting in the postponement of all social gatherings and public events scheduled for August. However, Zimbabwe Republic Police National Spokesperson Paul Themba Nyathi dismissed the ban as false.
Further inquiry by Kwedu News suggested that the alleged ban was not entirely unfounded. The Midlands Show Society apologized for the inconvenience caused by the postponement, citing circumstances beyond their control.
In a press statement, the society’s chairperson and executive committee said, “We would like to inform you that the Midlands Show 2024, which was scheduled for 15 to 18 August 2024, has been moved to 22-25 August 2024 due to circumstances beyond our control. We apologize for the inconvenience caused”.
