The 93rd Midlands Agricultural Show kicked off to a resounding start today, boasting 113 direct exhibitors, slightly down from last year’s total of 145. Show Manager, Mrs. Victoria Chikukwa, addressed a press conference at the Midlands Show Society in Gweru, promising final statistics on the show’s last day after accounting for indirect exhibitors.

The show’s management welcomed stakeholders, including exhibitors, judges, visitors, and delegates, with a hassle-free entrance to the exhibition center. Midlands Show Chairperson, Augustine Mupakurirwa, noted the slight decrease in exhibitor numbers but emphasized the show’s focus on strategic innovation for economic development.

This year’s theme, “Strategic Innovation for Economic Development,” aligns with Vision 2030, emphasizing the development of existing relationships across the economy for sustainable growth. Renowned businessman Trevor Mandaza, Director of Sheasham Investments, will officially open the show on Friday.

Mupakurirwa highlighted the importance of increasing participant engagement, matchmaking, and business networking. The show has invited business partners, delegations, schools, and potential investors to meet local entrepreneurial players, promoting business linkages and industrial development.

Midlands Show business convener, Patrick Marusho, assured that the show has not lost its agricultural flair, featuring amazing boer goats and various horticultural products.
