Zambia state power Company Zesco
has announced the introduction of a raft of power cuts in the Southern African two months after a close ally of President Hichilema Hakainde(Joseph Kalimbwe) rediculed and shamed Zimbabwe and South for introducing load shedding.
In a press statement Zesco said load shedding would be for 12 hours daily till further notice.
” The cooperation’ s ability to meet power demand remains constrained by the reduction in available water in the Kariba resevoir for electricity generation at the Kariba north power station. ” Zesco said.
Zimbabwe has been experiencing severe power cuts for a while with government citing reduction in generation capacity at Kariba but Kalimbwe had then dismissed that attributing it to poor planning.
