A 35 year-old man was stabbed to death by five men ,the incident occurred on 29 December 2023 at around 0130 hours at Bennet Village under Chief Bunina in Lower Gweru .
It is the state’s case that the now deceased Tuckforce Mpofu and his wife Petronella Maheya aged 30 were sleeping in their bedroom when five men allegedly broke the door and gained entry , the suspects, Mlungisi Gwizi, Ashley Sibanda, Precious Mpofu and two other who were not identified were armed with a spear, machetes and an axe.
It is alleged that the intruders assaulted Tuckforce all over the body in the presence of his wife over previous grudges and they left the scene after committing the offence.
It is reported that Maheya went to inform her father in-law Joseph Mpofu of the same village who rushed to the scene and found Tuckforce in an unconscious state about 400 metres away from his homestead.
ZRP Maboleni attended the scene and took the body to Gweru Provincial Hospital.
Zimbabwe Republic police midlands province are appealing to members of the public who might have information that can lead to the arrest of these suspects to approach any nearest police station.
