A 21 year old man died on admission at Gweru Provincial Hospital after he was found lying unconscious at Maboleni Business Centre, the incident occurred on 18 April 2024 at around 2000 hours.
The now deceased was identified as Brisky Moyo of village Njini under Chief Sogwala in Lower Gwelo.
It is the state’s case that the now deceased spent the day drinking beer at Maboleni Business Centre in the company of his two friends Terrence Chimhau (26) and Joseph Chimusoja (30) all of village Njini in Lower Gwelo and at around 1700 hours it is alleged that Moyo had a misunderstanding with an unknown man over a girlfriend and the dispute was resolved.
It is alleged that Moyo’s two friends Chimhau and Chimusoja got into Savemore bottle store in Maboleni to buy some beers leaving him outside and when they came back they could not locate Moyo and at around 2000 hours Moyo was seen by Alfred Sibanda a man aged 24 lying down behind a hardware at Maboleni Business centre.
Sibanda is said to have informed Nothando Ncube (50) a mother to Moyo who is now the deceased and they reported the matter to the Police and Moyo was rushed to Gweru Provincial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body of the deceased was inspected and found with a stab wound on the chest.
Zimbabwe republic police is appealing to anyone who might have knowledge of what could have happened to approach a nearest Police station.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said they are also urging members of the public to desist from the use of violence as a means of solving disputes.
