Gweru, Zimbabwe – A Gweru man’s journey to Chivhu turned into a nightmare when he woke up four days later in Beitbridge after being drugged, robbed and left for dead.
The victim, Tamayi Tabaziva, is said boarded an unregistered Nissan Note at the Gweru Showgrounds on June 19 at around 4 pm, intending to go to Chivhu unaware of the horrors awaiting him.
As they reached the 10km peg along the Gweru-Mvuma road, one of the three male occupants in the car produced a knife, while another sprayed him with an unknown substance on the face, rendering him unconscious.
Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the harrowing incident.
