….Traditional healer arrested

Chireya traditional healer was arrested accused of giving his client poisonous sexual enhancing herbs which resulted in the client’s death.
It is the state’s case that on 13 March 2024 at around 0800 hours, Chiedza Mdimuranwa (43) left her husband Isaac Kabarapate (49) at home while proceeding to her garden at a nearby Ume River, she returned home at around 1100 hours and was informed by her daughter in-law that Kabarapate was lying in the bush about 150 meters from the homestead, complaining of stomach pains.
It is said that Mdimuranwa went to check her husband and he told her that he had gone to consult a traditional healer identified as MacDonald Ndlovu for a sexual dysfunction who gave him herbal treatment.
Allegations are that Kabarapate started feeling stomach pains and vomiting blood soon after ingesting the herbs.
On 14 March 2024, at about 0100 hours Mdimuranwa and her husband’s brother took Kabarapate to Chireya Mission Hospital since his condition was deteriorating and he died while they were on their way to hospital.
Midlands province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said Ndlovu was arrested and is currently in custody while investigations are going on.
The body of the deceased was taken to United Bulawayo Group of Hospitals for post mortem
