In a Historic first, Internationally acclaimed South African Gospel Choir Joyous Celebration will begin a Nation wide tour of Australia from the 22nd of November 2024 with shows running into 2025.
In a press release, tour organisers, Global Events Australia Management has assured patrons and the community that all is set for the mega concerts and they will all proceed as planned.
The concerts, which are a first in the country, will be held from the 22nd of November going into 2025.
Global Events Australia Management said the “malicious” rumours are harmful to the success of the historic tour.
“We urge anyone with credible information about the source of these malicious rumors to kindly come forward and share this with us,” the statement reads.
“This misinformation is harmful to the success of our event, which is dedicated to bringing people together in celebration and worship through the power of Gospel music.”
The Joyous Celebration Concerts will feature world-class performances and creating unforgettable moments of joy and inspiration, Global Events Australia Management said.
The event is anticipated to bring people together, uplift spirits and unite communities through the power of gospel music as they have done before.
“We look forward to welcoming you all to the event and sharing in this joyous occasion,” the statement concludes.
Besides the renowned gospel choir stepping foot on Australian soil for the first time it, the tour will feature founding members Jabu Hlongwane and Lindelani Mkhize, who have been instrumental in crafting the success of the choir.
Adding onto over 28 years of musical excellence, the presence of the two adds a special touch of authenticity to the groundbreaking event, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Joyous Celebration has become a household name in Zimbabwe, synonymous with high-energy performances and moving songs.
Global Events Australia Director, Brian Mashoko, expressed excitement for the tour despite the work which comes with organising.
“All glory and honour goes to God for making this event possible. Organizing and financing a Joyous Celebration concert comes with its challenges, but I am confident that this choir has put together specially curated gospel arrangements that beautifully blend classics with their newest releases,” he said.
On their first performance, Joyous Celebration will be in Sydney on the 22nd of November 2024, at the Hillsong Convention Centre with a 3,300 capacity.
On November 23, 2024, they will be at Brisbane at the City Hall, with 1,500 capacity.
They will visit Perth on November 24, 2024, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre with 2,500 capacity.
For next year, 2025, they will be in Melbourne on February 22, with further cities to be announced in the coming year.
Brian Mashoko said he envisions the Joyous Celebration Tour becoming an annual event in Australia, having secured a multi-year deal with the choir.
“This is a significant victory for the Australian community, as we seldom witness such high-caliber gospel musicians performing here.
“We are committed to earning the love and support of our community and look forward to bringing more incredible talent to Australia,” he said.
