A 25 year old man was brutally murdered by an unknown assailant on the early hours of New Year day in Mtapa, Gweru.
Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the sad incident.
“We are investigating a case of murder in which a dead body of a 25 year-old man was discovered lying in a pool of blood in Mtapa section 6, Gweru by a passer-by. The incident occurred on 1 January 2024 around 0030 hours,” said the Provincial Police Spokesperson,” Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said.
He said ZRP Monomotapa attended the scene and the body was inspected and deep wounds were seen at the back of the head, chest and right shoulder.
The deceased who was identified as Xolani Nkomo employed by a private Security Company.
“The body was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital and police investigations are in progress”
“We are appealing to members of the public who might have information about the case to approach any police station, “Insp. Mahoko appealed.
