Gweru Mayor in Stormy Ponorgraphic Scandal

As Mayor slammed for circulating ponorgraphic Material in a residence group.

The Mayor of Gweru,the Midlands Capital of Zimbabwe, Hamutendi Kombayi has come under fire after sharing sex-videos in one of the biggest residence association groups, Kwedu News can exclusively reveal.

Kombayi, (50), who has been called the “the worst mayor in the city of progress” due to his wayward leadership style, was castigated left right and centre by scores of offended residents.
The sex video clip and pictures showing several human Sexuality video links was shared on Gweru United Progressive Residents and Ratepayers Development Association (GUPRARDA) by his Worship Gweru Mayor.

When contacted for comment one member of his own Movement for Democratic Party (MDC) explained that he does want to shake up the institution of the Mayor, although that is not what the party is about.

“We must realise that there are ordinary people with ordinary lives in these offices. One has a family or social life, a work life and has free time to spend with his friends,’’ explained the party member on condition of anonymity.

GUPRARDA Secretariat member, Tinani Nyabereka vented his disappointment saying he was not expecting such behaviour from the Mayor.

“Some of the things that you send is not expected from the city father. Let’s respect our stakeholders who are on this platform,” he said.

He went on to apologise on behalf of GUPRARDA ” “Mangwanani akanaka, ndinehurombo kwamuri mose vagari ne mastakeholders nekuona zvinhu zvinonyangadza zvakadaro, ndinovimba @⁨Hamutendi Kombayi , vachazvidzorawo pane zvimwe zvavanotumirawo nekuti mukaramba modaro tokubisai pano .hatidi kunganisa mafambiro egroup nekutumira zvinhu zvinonyangadza kuona kana kuverenga. kana muine zvichimo makasununguka utaura ne admins zvoonekwa zvingagadziriswa sei pane kutumidzira mifananidzo isina kukodzera. ndinovimba tichashandidzana mune zvakanaka nekuremekedza kodzero dzevamwe pa platform ino” . (To residents I am very sorry about the disgusting things done by the Mayor. It is my hope that he will change his attitude. If he had problems with the group, should have communicated rather than posting such a culturally immoral videos and pictures. It is my hope that we will continue working together and respecting the right of residents here)

Contacted for Comment by Kwedu News,Gweru City Council Public Relations Manager Vimbai Chingwaramuse said

“Get a comment from the Mayor,
I am only allowed to comment about service delivery so get a comment from the Mayor”

Several efforts by Kwedu News to get a comment from the Mayor Hamutendi Kombayi were fruitless as his phone went unanswered.

This is not the only time the Mayor has attracted media attention for his behaviour and social ills. He was criticised last year for hostile and abusive utterances when he sent several abusive voice notes in the same group, bullying and reactive acts that involve a specific intent to hurt a local ZBC journalist, Tafara Chikumira for factually reporting about his hotel, which was turned into a brothel.
Even though Kombayi did apologise at the time in the group the issue has caused a storm in the Midlands Provincial Capital of Zimbabwe.
