Midlands Province, Zimbabwe – A high-level meeting was held today between Honourable Minister Owen Ncube, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Midlands Province, Honourable Minister Barbara Rwodzi, Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, and Professor Amon Murwira, Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, with heads of government departments.
The meeting aimed to prepare for the upcoming visit of His Excellency, President Cde Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, to Chirumanzu District on August 2, 2024.
The President’s visit will mark the commissioning of the Holy Cross Dam, a significant infrastructure development project that promises to bring numerous benefits to the community. The dam will improve water supply for irrigation and domestic use, enhance food security, create jobs, and promote economic growth. It will also improve access to clean water and sanitation, reducing poverty and improving living standards.
The commissioning of the Holy Cross Dam demonstrates the government’s commitment to developing rural areas and improving citizens’ lives. The dam is expected to have a positive impact on the livelihoods of people in Chirumanzu District and surrounding areas, contributing to the country’s overall economic development.
The meeting highlighted the government’s dedication to delivering vital infrastructure projects that benefit local communities and drive economic growth. The Ministers and government officials are working together to ensure a successful presidential visit and a memorable commissioning ceremony for the Holy Cross Dam.
