A woman who is suspected to be approximately 18 – 21 year-old was found dead, floating in a sewer pond, in Gokwe Centre on 9 January 2024 at around 1800 hours.
It is the state’s case that a male juvenile aged 17 years whose name is withheld of Dzavo Village under Chief Njelele who was herding cattle discovered the body, he rushed home and informed other villagers and in turn, a report was made to the police.
It is reported that the body was retrieved and during inspection ZRP found fresh bruises on the waist and back of the woman.
The body of the deceased was found naked and the clothes could not be found, serve for a torn undergarment which was close by and it is suspected that the victim might have been sexually abused before being killed.
Zimbabwe republic police are appealing to members of the public who may have information pertaining to the full circumstances surrounding the death to approach any police station.
