Berlin, Germany – The Global Disability Summit (GDS) is gearing up to strengthen disability rights and inclusion on April 2-3, 2025. This event will be preceded by the Civil Society Forum (CSF) on April 1, 2025, also in Berlin.
The CSF aims to bring together the disability community, allowing participants to share experiences and build partnerships. It focuses on increasing the involvement of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and addressing important issues in the global disability movement.
“The Civil Society Forum (CSF), is your chance to unify voices, share experiences, and forge meaningful partnerships ahead of the Global Disability Summit (2-3 April 2025). The CSF offers a dedicated space for the disability community, leveraging the occurrence of the Summit to amplify the participation of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and highlight key issues relevant to the global disability movement, “read the post on GDS social media platform.
Organizers of the GDS emphasize the need to connect disability inclusion with development cooperation. They aim to encourage investment in disability-inclusive humanitarian efforts, particularly in developing nations.
The CSF will serve as a platform for civic organizations and individuals to engage in disability rights activism. It seeks to empower groups to advocate for disability rights and inclusion at various levels.
With a special focus on Civic Organizations, the GDS and CSF aim to address discrimination and promote equality. The organizers are committed to raising awareness about the challenges faced by People with Disabilities (PWDs) and fostering a more inclusive society.
