High Court Judge Bongani Ndlovu recently sounded the alarm over a disturbing surge in murder cases in Midlands Province, with at least seven people being killed weekly over trivial issues. He warned that if this trend continues, the province risks becoming the “capital of murder” in Zimbabwe.
Judge Ndlovu made these remarks while presiding over several chilling murder cases involving petty disputes, such as altercations over 50 cents, a plate of sadza, or a bottle of beer. He expressed concern that these cases reveal a disturbing disregard for the value of human life, highlighting the need for urgent intervention to address this escalating issue.
