Fatal crash on Harare-Masvingo road claims one life, leaves three injured

Tragedy struck on the Harare-Masvingo Road in Mvuma on Tuesday evening, July 24, 2024, when a devastating head-on collision resulted in the loss of one life and left three others seriously injured.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the accident occurred at approximately 7:00 pm near the 167 km peg, when a Freight Haulage Truck driven by 57-year-old Willis Mutisi of Harare collided with an oncoming Hino Dutro truck.
Mutisi’s passenger tragically died on the spot, while two passengers from the Hino truck sustained severe injuries. The injured were rushed to Mvuma Hospital for medical attention.
The ZRP has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution and adhere to road safety regulations, particularly avoiding excessive speeding.
The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the region, and authorities have pledged to increase patrols and enforcement measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
