In a leaked Mark Nuda, document (in possession of this publication), Secretary General, Moses Magazeni accused Harare City Council former Housing Director, Edgar Dzehonye, of converting the land which Mark Nuda successfully applied for to run a housing cooperative after it was seized from a white farmer during the land reform programme to personal use.

“This document is being submitted as an appeal to your good office for assistance in the long battle we are having with the Harare City Council and being fuelled by the greedy unethical individuals from ZANU PF who are against His Excellency, President of Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s anti-corruption drive, hence putting good names of the ruling party and local authority into disrepute,” read the petition.

In the petition directed to one government authority, Mark Nuda indicated that the accused use their offices to oppress the vulnerable disabled  against  stipulations  of  the Zimbabwe’s  Constitution’s  principles  and  fundamentals of  Human  Rights  and  freedom, negotiations  of  inherent  dignity and  worthy  of  each  individual  as  well  as  recognition  of  all human  beings.

“Their actions have left the disability community wondering if the constitution is there to protect the interests of sons and daughters of soil (Citizens of Zimbabwe) or those who occupy positions of authority in the City Council and the unscrupulous political party individuals, “said Magazine.

In the document Mr Magazine appealed to the government office to weed-out and curb corruption in the local authority.

The corrupt tendencies by Dzehonye, Nhikairo and company are evidenced by the establishment of a housing scheme named Heavy Weight Cooperative owned by the.

“That is when we came to realise there was serious conflict of interest as Harare City Council seem to have fraudulently given our piece of land to Heavy Weight, with the help of the interested Senior Council Officials. We confronted them to have an understanding why this is happening and no satisfactory answer came from them,” read the document.
