Aussie based Zim gospel sensation unleashes debut Album

By Harry Taruva from Sydney, Australia.

Sydney based rising Zim gospel sensation Lynette Moyo announced her arrival on the gospel music platform in style as she launched her debut Album in Sydney NSW last Saturday.

Titled ” The Author and the Finisher ” the Album has 9 tracks and was inspired by her walk with God. Interestingly Lynette sings in English shona, Ndebele and Swahili.

On a chilly Sydney night, Lynette was backed by a host of supporting acts from Pedro the Trumpeter,Samantha Zigori, Minister Eric David, the Heckenburg Traditional Samoan Dance group, and Minister Comfort Goko.

Opening the stage was Samantha Zigori who captured the hearts of the revellers with her mellodius voice. After her Minister Eric David jumped on to the stage and treated the ecstatic audience to some song and dance. The show would not have been a wow without a touch of Contemporary Heckenburg Traditional Samoan Dance performances. This was a perfect fit to strike a balance amongst the audience in attendance.

Their performance was complemented by Minister Comfort Goko who took the mic and did two songs that toned up the vibes in preparation for the main actor of the night Lynette Moyo.

There were loud and deafening cheers as the Bulawayo born Lynette took the centre stage in style to mesmerise the audience with her mellifluous voice.

Addressing the gathering ZIMAA chair Gladys Maseko said of Lynette ” As a child of the community, …we are proud of you and you have made us proud..” Mrs Maseko applauded the work done by Lynette describing it as a good example for other Zimbabwean and African youths.

After the launch the affable Lynette told Kwedu News how delighted she was with the Album launch “
“I have experienced an overwhelming number of emotions. Gratitude being the core emotion. I’m grateful for the love and support I received from my family, friends, church, and community. My expectations were exceeded, and the turnout was incredible.

As the saying goes: “Umuntu, ngumuntu, ngabantu,” which means ” a person is a person because of people,”

The journey to the album has been a memorable, challenging, and a rewarding experience.I have an incredible team who worked tirelessly to ensure the launch was a success
I’d like to personally thank the God’s Power Ministries, ZIMAA, Zimbabwean communities, family and friends for their support at the album launch. They came in numbers and filled the room with Joy.
There are many people who have supported me during this time, who have been influential in the development of this album, I’d like to thank them for their hard work..”
