A chilling tale of terror has come to an end for the residents of Savanhu, Chitungwiza, as 35-year-old Tapiwa Mbirimi has been sentenced to an effective 102 years in prison for his brutal crimes.
Mbirimi’s reign of terror, which began in January 2023, left a trail of fear and violence in its wake.
Armed with a deadly arsenal of a pistol, machete, and iron bar, Mbirimi wreaked havoc on the community, robbing innocent victims of their cash, cellphones, and valuables.
His crimes were not limited to robbery alone; he also attempted to murder one of his victims by shooting them with his pistol.
The Harare Regional Court convicted Mbirimi of multiple counts of armed robbery and attempted murder.
The impose sentence serves as a stark warning to would-be offenders: crime will not be tolerated, and those who choose to engage in violent behavior will face the full force of the law.
As the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe has made clear, justice has been served, and the community can finally begin to heal from the wounds inflicted by Mbirimi’s brutal crimes.
