ED to meet junior parliamentarians

All is set for the Day of The African Child commemorations 2023 and they gather as Junior Parliament in Harare today where the newly elected child president will deliver his first speech in front of thousands of children at the National City Sports Centre in attendance.

Just like their adult counterparts, some members of the Junior Parliamentarians, councilors and chiefs will also be there where the event will be covered live by various media publications.Mavu was appointed ahead of the official opening of the Junior Parliament by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Friday (today).


Zimbabwe Youth Council, custodians of Junior Parliament, said all is set for the 2023 session of the parliament. Newly elected Junior Parliament President, Naville Mavu of Goromonzi High School will take over from Unathi Nyoni whose term of office end today on the official launch of the 2023 children’s parliament.
“Giving his acceptance speech, after winning the presidency, Mavu expressed joy and excitement for the trust and responsibility at hand to represent youths at that level.
“It is such an honour, I seek to bring change, empower the youth, because I believe as Africans we are brilliant and can stand out,” he said

The outgoing Junior President appreciated the opportunity accorded to him during the tenure
