Accident claims lives of four

Four people died on spot while other four were injured during a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 6 May 2024 at around 1800 hours at 43 km peg along the Gweru – Zvishavane road towards Shurugwi.
A Toyota Wish vehicle was carrying seven passengers and it hit a tree after veering off road.
“ZRP confirms the fatal accident in which Trymore Mapolisa (47) was the driver, the motor vehicle was traveling torwads Shurugwi and upon reaching 43 km peg, Mapolisa lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road to the left side where it hit a tree which was beside the road.
Four people who were in the vehicle died on the spot while the other four were injured.
ZRP attended the scene and they are still doing investigations.
The dead bodies were taken to Shurugwi District Hospital mortuary while the injured persons were referred to the same Hospital for treatment.
Zimbabwe republic police midlands province spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said names of the deceased will be released once their next of kin are informed.
ZRP urges motorists to avoid speeding when on the road so as to avoid loss of life and property.
