The call to action comes at a time when many nations are increasingly integrating AI into their military operations, from advanced surveillance systems to autonomous drones. President Mnangagwa’s remarks reflect a broader recognition that the future of national defense will be heavily reliant on technology, and Zimbabwe cannot afford to lag behind. The digitization of our national security is not just an option; it is a necessity.
The are several key areas where AI could significantly enhance military capabilities. These include intelligence gathering, predictive analytics for strategic planning, and improved logistics and supply chain management. By leveraging AI, the Zimbabwean military can enhance its operational efficiency and responsiveness, ultimately leading to a more secure nation.
