Chitungwiza, Harare – A 16-year-old Form 4 student from Chitungwiza was subjected to a horrific ordeal while collecting water for prayers at Hunyani River on Sunday.
According to police reports, the teenager was abducted by three men and taken to a parked white Honda Fit, where one of the men raped her while the others looked on.
Harare Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident.
“Police are investigating a rape case involving a 16-year-old at Hunyani River near Manyame Park,” he said.
“The accused persons were reported to have dragged the complainant into their vehicle at around 1:30 pm and released her at around 5 pm.”
Insp. Chakanza also added that, “The complainant was escorted to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for medical examination.”
He said police are working to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice.
