…..Shocking Details Emerge
By Kwedu News
A chilling Facebook post by Highlanders CEO Sihlangu Dlodlo has left colleagues and fans stunned, following his sudden passing under unclear circumstances.
Dlodlo shared a cryptic message about a fortnight ago, that seemed to foreshadow his demise.
In a bizarre statement written in his local language widely spoken in Southern Zimbabwe, Ndebele, Dlodlo wrote: “One nice way of ending drama and nonsense at funerals is to just die alone in the house, just rot for a week or so and neighbours witness green flies by the window and not know how to contact your relatives and police collect your body in a metal coffin and open truck and hopefully, take you to Kings and Queens (Palour). That way, there will be no body viewing and you are taken straight to Luveve Cemetery. By the way, don’t bring flowers sweethearts.”
In his final post before his body was discovered, Dlodlo enigmatically further stated: “Verily, verily I say unto you, God does not get drunk.”
One close relative, who wished to remain anonymous, is reported to have recounted the shocking events surrounding Dlodlo’s death.
The relative said they received a call from Highlanders officials who had gone to his house, concerned that he had not shown up for work on Monday.
They found the gate locked from inside, and when the relatives arrived, they forced their way in.
However, upon realizing something was amiss, they contacted the police, who gained entry into the house and discovered the body.
The relative added that the body was taken to United Bulawayo Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Dlodlo’s brother, Nkosana Griffiths, expressed the family’s bewilderment, as reported by one of Zimbabwe local daily papers.
“As family, we do not know what transpired as his body has to be examined, and we await the results of the post-mortem,” he said.
Highlanders Chairman Kenneth Mhlophe extended his condolences.
“It is with profound shock and sadness that Highlanders Football Club announce the sudden passing on of our chief executive officer, Sihlangu Dlodlo.
“Our organisation is mourning the loss of an exceptional leader, colleague, and friend,” he said.
Zifa said Dlodlo’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void not only in Highlanders Football Club but also within the entire Zimbabwean football family.
The Premier Soccer League also remembered Dlodlo as a dedicated leader who it says served the football community with passion, commitment, and integrity.
Mourners are gathered at House Number 310 Mahatshula South, following the relocation of the funeral wake from Nketa 9.
