President Emmerson Mnangagwa emphasized the importance of prioritizing the party over individual interests during the ZANU (PF) 21st National People’s Conference in Bulawayo.

“Each of us should never consider ourselves more important than the party,” President Mnangagwa stressed. “Individually, we must ask ourselves if we are loyal, honest, consistent, persistent and whether we will persevere with the Party.”

He highlighted the need for party members to embody the traits of a revolutionary cadre, warning that those who fail to do so or engage in indiscipline will face consequences.

“Let us be remembered for uniting the Party as well as helping others, and not dividing the Party and our people,” President Mnangagwa said. “We must continue to persevere under the Party, even at times when it is tough.”

The President also emphasized the importance of rejecting corruption, favoritism, regionalism, and tribalism, urging party leaders to lead by example and act in the best interest of the party and country.

The conference theme, ‘Industrialise and Modernise Towards the Attainment of Vision 2030’, aims to drive Zimbabwe’s modernization and industrialization agenda, with a focus on high-impact social development progress and grassroots engagement.

Young people within the party are expected to be rooted in the development philosophy, ‘Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatigwa nevene vayo/ ilizwe, lakhiwa, libuswe, likhulekelwe ngabanikazi balo’, to achieve Vision 2030.
