Businessman Chikozho (60) Takes Own Life

In a devastating incident in Zvishavane, a renowned businessman in the Zimbabwe transport sector, Alphabet Chikozho (60) was found dead in his Toyota Hilux motor vehicle in a suspect suicide case.
He was found dead, parked at a lay-by along the Zvishavane-Masvingo highway.
Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the businessman informed his wife a day before of his suicidal intentions.
“On 24 July 2024, at around 0630 hours, the now deceased informed his wife that he wanted to commit suicide for an undisclosed issue. He was refrained by his wife, and the two retired to bed,” Inspector Mahoko said.
However, the next day, Chikozho is said drove out, informing his wife that he was heading to their rural home in Chivi.
Tragically, he never made; instead he was found dead in his car, seated in the driver’s seat with a loaded gun with one spent cartrige.
“A revolver firearm loaded with five rounds of ammunition was on his lap. One spent cartridge was found in the motor vehicle, and the body had blood clots on the mouth,” Inspector Mahoko said.
Leading cause to Chikozho’s actions were yet to be revealed.
The deceased’s body was ferried to Zvishavane District Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem
