Armed gang hits Silobela clinic

Three yet to be identified robbers on 10 February 2024 pounced BB Clinic in Silobela and robbed the institution of property worth us4400.

According to Zimbabwe Republic Police three men armed with an Iron bar and okapi knives pounced at BB Clinic, Silobela and got away with three lithium batteries worth US $4400.

Provincial Community Relations Liaison Officer, Midlands, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the incident occurred on 10 February 2024 at about 2330 hours.

He said that Mark Masuthu a male aged 50 who is employed as a security guard at Malisa Joseph BB Clinic, Silobela was on duty. It is alleged that at about 2330 hours he was approached by three men who were armed with an Iron bar and knives.

“The three grabbed him before tying his hands with an electric cable. They entered into the Clinic rooms where they took three lithium batteries, loaded them into their silver grey Mazda 3 vehicle registration number ADT 7539 and drove away. Masuthu managed to untie himself, resulting in the case being reported to the Police,” said Insp. Mahoko.

Mahoko said police recovered the motor vehicle a Mazda 3 registration number ADT 7539 after it was involved in an accident and dumped along Kwekwe Nkayi road.

“The vehicle was searched and the stolen three batteries were recovered. The Police are appealing to anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspects to approach any nearest police station, “said Insp. Mahoko.
