..Healthcare, education professionals on demand in Australia with fastest visa approvals

Healthcare and education sectors are still top priority on Australian government visa approvals as the country continues to face shortage of skilled workers in its regional areas, Kwedu News has learnt.
The two sectors are the Aussie government’s top priority with fast visa approval rates.
The country’s government has directed that employer-sponsored visas in regional Australia be prioritised, especially in the healthcare and education.
“The healthcare sector continues to be the highest volume sector for temporary and permanent skilled visa applications.
“In its latest directive, the Australian government has prioritised employer-sponsored visas in regional areas with a focus on fast-tracking those in the healthcare and education sectors.
“A ministerial directive, which came into effect recently, has highlighted the need to support regional Australia by streamlining visa processing for businesses located in regional Australia who are sponsoring skilled workers,” an online platform, SBS Hindi, says.
Meanwhile applications for employer-sponsored visas in relation to all occupations to be carried out in regional Australia have been elevated.
The Australian government through its Department of Home Affairs say the move will support the country’s regions and employers facing critical shortages across all industries and sectors.
It says all occupations are to be carried out in a regional area under the Temporary Skill Shortage (Subclass 482), Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) and the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) (Subclass 494) visas.
The Australian Home Affairs Department granted 6466 Temporary Skill Shortage (Subclass 482) visas to workers in the Health Care and Social Assistance industry between the year 2022-23, 17061 permanent visas to individuals in healthcare occupations and 1060 visas in the Education and Training sector.
“The healthcare sector continues to be the highest volume sector for temporary and permanent skilled visa applications.
Neha Singh, a Melbourne-based Migration Officer, quoted in SBS Hindi, says onshore applicants in healthcare and education are currently experiencing swift approvals for their permanent visas.
In addition to fulfilling other visa requirements, she said, overseas teachers are required to provide evidence of supervised teaching practice to be eligible for migration to Australia.
Singh added that offshore or overseas nurses ‘undergo specific exams to qualify as registered nurses in Australia, while overseas teachers must present proof of supervised teaching practice,’ she said.
She added that meeting these visa conditions still remained a challenge for many overseas applicants.
