Seven suspects have been nabbed after robbing an 18-year old man during broad day light.
The incident occurred on the 4th of November 2023 at 1000 hours, at Mapfumo 1 business Centre in Gokwe.
Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.
“On the fateful day, the complainant Delta Ndlovu (18) was at the business centre when the suspects disembarked from a Honda fit registration number AFB 3811 white in colour.
“One of them grabbed complainant while holding a knife and tripped him to the ground. The trio then jointly searched complainant and took away US$50 and fled” said Insp. Mahoko .
A report was made at ZRP Gokwe and suspects were later nabbed. Police recovered two knives, a hammer, a catapult and chisel from the motor vehicle which was being used by the suspects.
“The suspects have been identified as; Chipo Mugwati a female aged 24, Panashe Mzizi(21), Joseph Nyambo(19), Previous Mapondo(23), Leonerd Mapondo(23), Mulungisi Konde(32), Zebro Dube(25) all of Gokwe Centre. They are held in police custody as investigations continue,”Insp.Mahoko said while applauding members of the public for supplying fruitful information which led to arrest of the suspects.
