NASSAF hailed for producing enterprising young people

The newly appointed Minister of Primary and Secondary Education has hailed National Annual Science, Sport and Arts Festivals (NASSAF).

In his official speech, NASSAF 2023 held at Chaplin High School in Gweru, Minister Torerai Moyo said the Festivals is a package to illustrate that through the Competence-Based Curriculum;, the ministry recognizes and celebrates all different types of intelligence and human potential amongst its pupils.
‘’This marks a sharp paradigm shift from the additional focus on academic performance alone.
‘’Our country seeks to produce enterprising young people who can translate what they have learnt through the Natural Sciences, Humanities, Technical Vocational Learning Areas as well as the Visual and Performing Arts into not only innovating products and services but also income generating and employment creation,’’ Moyo said.
The education Minister encouraged encourage parents to focus on identifying the special talents and abilities that their children have and join the Ministry in ensuring that whatever whatever talent, special ability and interest that each pupil brings is supported into the best that that one achieves for personal survival and national development.
Minister Moyo added that such innovations, by pupils bear testimony to the importance of the whole of government approach principle.

Over 1000 schools from across the nation showcased their talents in terms of technology and design, visual and performing arts, science and mathematics, Olympiads, science exhibitions and agriculture.
