President Emmerson Mnangagwa has described the late founder and President of Zaoga Fifmi Apostle H Guti as a great unifier and Ambassador of hope.
Addressing mourners gathered at the National Sports Stadium in Zimbabwe on Saturday a visibly emotional Mnangagwa delivered a moving sermon as he chronicled the life and legacy of Apostle Guti.
“We have lost a great leader and advocate of peace and justice
” He was a unifier and a man of deep faith and conviction, whose life was testament to the power of love and forgiveness
“The people and government of Zimbabwe are indebted to him for the legacy he has left to the church and community at large.
The Zimbabwe President added,
“We are gathered here to send off an Ambassador of hope, a beacon of light and a voice of reason, a man who lived his life with love,humility and grace.
He commented Apostle Guti for promoting unity in the nation saying
” He was a true champion in promoting the welfare of the vulnerable..the disabled,women and children “
President Mnangagwa also singled out the school of talents, a brain child of Baba Guti for praise saying the Zaoga Fifmi leader was a force for empowerment and spiritual upliftment.
Zaoga has built children’s homes,high schools, hospitals and a university through talents.
“In doing so he ensured the church played its part towards a higher life for its people”
He called on the church to emulate Apostle Guti by uplifting people to prosperity as they preach the gospel.
” The church must preach production and productivity from the village level upwards
Mnangagwa also praised Apostle Guti for introducing talents
“The school of talents is one of his signature philosophies which natures self reliance at household and family level “
Mnangagwa further described Apostle Guti as an epitome and champion of entrepreneurship par excellence.
In recognition of his work ,Apostle Guti was awarded the prestigious award of the Order of Zimbabwe in Gold, the highest honour that one can be awarded in Zimbabwe by the Government.
He urged the members of the church to remain committed to the principles and vision of Apostle Guti,
” The late Apostle Guti did not teach how to live, he simply lived by example” Mnangagwa added
” He knew no tribe no race, he bequeathed to all his love”
“Let us honour his legacy by emulating and following his footsteps and continue his work…the values of peace,unity ,humility, love and respect that he had so dearly should be nurtured and inculcated as indispensable national character of our motherland. “
A timeless icon ,whose influence transcends and overcomes boundaries and generations, Apostle Guti founded Zaoga Fifmi Ministries 63 years ago and presided over the church as it grew and spread to over 168 countries.
He has touched and impacted on the life of millions across the six continents of the world , standing out as a rare and outstanding visionary, intergenerational and transnational leader of our life time.
Apostle Guti was promoted to glory on the 5th of July 2023 aged 100 years. In honour of his emmense contribution, the Zimbabwe government awarded him National hero status.
After his death on 5th July the Zaoga Fifmi declared 30 days of mourning to celebrate the life and legacy of Apostle Guti.
