Tsenengamu controversially claims Chamisa is working with Zanu pf to ensure Mnangagwa re-election

Controversial former Zanu PF youth league leader, Godfrey Tsenengamu, has sensetionally claimed that the Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa, is working with the ruling party to ensure President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s re-election.

Making the allegations in one of Trevor’s Ncube’s Heart & Soul programmes, Tsenengamu claimed Chamisa is in an agreement with some of the country’s influential community and religious leaders to allow the incumbent President Mnangagwa to complete his term, on tribal grounds.

“This whole drama that is happening is meant to make sure that Mnangagwa gets a second term.

“Because there was an arrangement that was done which involved (Chief Fortune) Charumbira, one Wutawunashe and Mutendi.

“They went to convince the leadership of the main opposition to say, we have been under the Zezuru dominance for 37 years.

“Why would you want to get one of your own out of the office after they’ve just been there for five years?

“Why can’t you allow him 10 years then you have your time, you come in, we all support you,” Tsenengamu said.

He claimed Chief Charumbira has already hinted on the existence of the arrangement.

“At first I was doubtful about it untill Charumbira came out and said we had the Zezurus for 37 years, blah blah blah, you are brothers, things like that and everything.

“I said oh, okay; so those guys from this side who were saying this is what is happening were really saying the truth,” said Tsenengamu.

He said the general public desperately yearning for change are beeing deceived.

“So people can’t wait to have change, the general people, and they are so hopeful that their leadership is also with them.

“They believe that the leadership is sincere,” he said.

The politician, who is now working with estranged former Zanu PF Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere, in the upcoming August 2023 harmonised elections, questioned the sincerity of the country’s biggest opposition party in pushing for electoral reforms.

“How can the opposition be pushing for electoral reforms three, four months before an election?” He asked.
