Young parents, youths urged to revive cultural values

Midlands traditionalist, Mary Mponda has urged the youth to preserve and promote the culture and traditiononal values.

The popular traditionalist stated this at the inaugural Youth Culture Indaba organised by the Ministry of Youth Sports Arts and Recreation.

” In this regard I call upon the youth to restore and reform their cultural values set by and traditions.I also urge today parents to teach their children, the good character and values set by the forefathers,” she said.

Gogo Mponda who was the chief guest of the program said she has been observing the rapidly changing lifestyle of the youths and commented that the society is at the point of losing the ancestral culture and traditional values.

Gweru District Youth Officer Audrey Mukurezhezha who echoed the same sentiments said honesty and trust is lacking in today’s marriages.
“Honest and trust are lacking in today’s marriages, there is need to revive the value of faithfulness and honesty in order to properly lead the society,”she said.

Mukurezhezha went on to urge husbands to be responsible in all aspects of family matters inorder to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
